[@dsflat] the centbee transaction is the 1A6ud address receiving a payment. Not the 1A6ud address sending out a payment. Big difference. Anyone here on hodlocker could send txs from their centbee wallet to 1A6ud and it’ll show up in 1A6ud’s tx history.

[@derose] the sending change to itself part is strange, but fits in with an exchange cold wallet narrative as they wouldn’t want coins being split into multiple addresses which can confuse their accounting. The 1A6ud address is sending massive amounts to multiple other addresses 13k, 3k, 48k. 2.5k chunks of BSV I’ve seen sent. Again this fits with exchange cold wallet theory. An exchange cold wallet would periodically send large chunks to their different hot wallet addresses to replenish funds as hot wallets are drained from user’s requesting withdrawals.

It also explains why your random walks are leading you to freshly minted 50 bitcoin reward txs and Coinbase txs.. because you’re gonna find alllll kinds of random txs linked with the potentially thousands of different users the exchange will have.

@presencia it’s not the exchange buying BSV or BCH. It’s the collective amount of coins custodied by the exchange but owned by multiple users.

Say the exchange belongs to OKX - you will get thousands of users who own BSV send coins to their OKX deposit address. Those coins now are in OKX custody. They don’t keep it in that same deposit address. After some time you’ll see those coins move and it gets batched together into a cold wallet or hot wallet.

If someone really wants to the way to find out if this an exchange cold wallet address is to send say 1000 BSV to OKX and trace where those funds end up in.

We saw the same phenomena with ORDI when Gate/OKX started listing it. Ppl initially were like wow new whale address accumulating!!! But then it was quite obvious it was just Gate’s cold ORDI address cus it held massive chunks of other BRC20s too.
