Nothing to see here, folks. Governments around the world are sending billions of dollars in aid to Ukraine under President Volodymyr Zelenskyy—a man whose previous career included playing the president on television and performing a comedy routine appearing to play a piano with his penis.

Sounds legit to me.

One minute you're performing questionable musical comedy on national television; a few years later, world leaders are discussing billion-dollar military and financial aid packages with your government.

Now that's what I call career progression.

Of course, Zelenskyy's old comedy routine doesn't prove anything about how international aid is managed or spent. But when taxpayers are watching eye-watering sums of public money disappear into an overseas war, asking where every dollar goes seems fairly reasonable.

So relax, taxpayers. I'm sure there's absolutely nothing worth scrutinising here.

Just keep writing the cheques.

And whatever you do, don't ask the pianist for receipts.
