tradable ranks... well actually tradable discounts.
(I need double check the specifics)
The more ADF Swaps you do, the higher your rank climbs
each rank has a discount

so say you get to tier 4, with 5% discount
the discount is a neuron that can be sold
If sold, your discount then drops down to what it was on previous tier 3 
I think the rank is kept only the discount gets traded
will be testing this out today/tomorrow
