Can also be a token / badge that’s is not tradable.  This way the platform doesn’t have to worry about whales buying up all the discount fee jpegs in a hostile takeover just to degen. But it does seem that a popular platform can monitize from time to time someway with tradeable  jpeg sales. 🤷‍♂️
