Elon Musk has a modest little dream: build a self-sustaining city of one million people on Mars by 2050. All it requires is thousands of rockets, armies of Tesla robots, mining operations, power stations, fuel refineries, artificial habitats and the complete construction of civilisation on a frozen radioactive planet where stepping outside means freezing, boiling and suffocating simultaneously.

Simple.

Fortunately, Elon is one of the richest people on Earth. Unfortunately, building an entirely new planet is expensive, so I'm sure your hard-earned tax dollars will be greatly appreciated.

Apparently, we can't solve homelessness, stop children going hungry or make basic living expenses affordable for everyone on the planet we already have—but don't worry, we're going to build a second civilisation on Mars.

Just imagine it: you spend 40 years paying taxes, struggling with your mortgage and watching the cost of living climb—all so Optimus can eventually build Elon a Martian subdivision 225 million kilometres away.

So dig deep, taxpayers. Elon has the vision, the rockets and the billions.

He just needs your money.

Earth's problems? We'll circle back to those.
