ANNE was initially developed on BCH/BSV,
In 2020 ANNE was live on BSV doing millions of transactions but not open to public.
ANNE was the mystery entity people were asking about.
Long story short, TAAL closed their MAPI endpoints so they could charge a fee for access, this killed ANNE on BSV overnight.

When a project is dependant on anything they do not control,
this is extreme risk, and there was no guaranty BSV would be the future of data storage, and even it it did, there would be a huge transition period.
So ANNE had to be ready for any situation,
which meant ZERO dependencies and ability to pull data from any source.

Although ANNE is a data chain, ANNE does not store the data on chain, ANNE stores data points, and can retrieve the data from nodes on the network or from the source.
(ANTOR is encrypted torrent like file share)
Node runners store the data that matters to them.
ANNE is not designed to end up in specialized server farms, but to be very light weight with many users running nodes
