If by "in the trenches" you mean experiencing an altered state induced by the state (or otherwise), then be careful man. It's hard to discern what the fuck is going on in such a state. It's impossible actually. People can't understand how reality flips entirely and becomes something... totally different than regular reality. And you can invite real mortal danger from other people in those states, I did this multiple times.
